So, I see that STPII decided to go with their in-between refit anyway. I wonder if continuing voyages had anything to do with that...
I don't know if I like the new kirk better than the old kirk yet... but I know I'm not gonna like the CV Kirk... which is a shame considering...

Phase II refit is stupid...more shoe-horning in rejected/lost/reboot designs into the continuity. I must be the only person who's actually plotting out a timeline for the Enterprise's lifetime and noticed that there is no room for a refit between the original series and the movies...hell the movie refit is supposed to take 18 months, nearly two years to complete according to Scotty in The Motion Picture. Although, I maintain it'd be easier for Starfleet to have built a fresh ship from scratch, rather than shifting the very different structures of the original over to the 'refit'. :geek:

I wish they'd just concentrate on getting ONE episode released. Every year or so James will give us news that they are working on getting episodes out at more of a pace, but they always seem to get side-tracked or waylaid. :|

So what's going on with Kirk? Is James leaving the roll?

Si

I'd heard he was stepping aside in order to better handle the production aspects and his own career.

It was my understanding that everyone else was, but I haven't followed it that close.
